Nothing Halfway
Sustainability isn't a talking point here. It's just how we operate. Every service, every rinse, every piece of waste is part of a system we've thought through. Because doing good work and doing right by the planet shouldn't be mutually exclusive.
THE WASTE PROBLEM IS REAL. WE'RE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
The beauty industry generates 877 pounds of waste per minute across North America. Hair clippings, foils, color tubes, excess chemicals. Most of it goes straight to a landfill or down a drain. We decided that wasn't good enough.
Boss Hair Group is a certified Green Circle Salon, part of a network of 16,000 salons across the US and Canada who've collectively kept over 10 million pounds of beauty waste out of landfills and waterways. Through the program, we capture and responsibly repurpose what most salons throw away: hair clippings, foils, color tubes, excess chemicals, aerosols, plastics, and glass. Up to 95% of our salon waste is recycled or repurposed rather than trashed.
In order to continue our membership with GCS, a $5 Green Circle Salon Fee will be added to each service ticket to help aid in our contribution of helping our environment stay green and sustainable by recycling over 95% of our salon waste.
CLEANER WATER. BETTER RESULTS.
Every shampoo bowl at Boss Hair Group is fitted with an ECOHEADS filtration showerhead. Standard salon water is loaded with minerals, sediment, rust, and chlorine that mess with color chemistry, dry out hair, and waste energy. ECOHEADS solves all of that at once.
Multi-stage filtration and negative ion conditioning deliver purified, softened water at optimized pressure, reducing mineral content by up to 40% for cleaner color development and better results all around. It also saves up to 65% of water usage per basin with zero loss of pressure. With five shampoo stations running daily, that adds up to over 300 gallons saved every single day. Nearly 6,700 gallons a month. For you, it means a better wash, a better scalp experience, and color that develops the way it's supposed to. For the planet, it means a lot less water down the drain.
It all adds up.
Every service at Boss generates waste. Foils, color tubes, hair, chemicals, plastics. Left unmanaged, that stuff ends up in landfills and waterways. Through our Green Circle membership, it doesn't. Everything gets collected, sorted, and repurposed — hair clippings, excess color, aerosols, the works. Up to 95% of what we produce gets diverted and given a second life somewhere useful.
We're always looking for more ways to reduce our footprint, from the products we carry in the Apothecary to how we run the space day to day. If you have ideas, we genuinely want to hear them.
